My father started was an expert surfer on solids (made his own) then copied Blake's hollows. Doyle my best friend and mentor was able to convince Don Hanson to give me a shaping position (on my way home from Peru world contest) where I shaped summer 65. Then I shaped alongside Brewer at John Price's Surfboards Hawaii in Encinitas. Back in Australia founded Adlers surf shop but then moved to Hayden's where we became the leading manufacturer (at one stage had a 14 week waiting) . Candy Calhoun (my partner) and I began San Juan Surfboards in Byron Bay. I'm sorry to say my health is not well enough to travel these days and I am not able to attend the induction ceremony.
